2025 Super Formula Season Opener
The season kicks off at Suzuka Circuit from Friday, March 7 to Sunday, March 9. The action begins with one-hour practice sessions on Friday, followed by the first qualifying round and race on Saturday. Qualifying starts at 9:50 am local time, with the 75-minute race at 2:40 pm in Japan. Sunday will mirror Saturday’s schedule, with qualifying in the morning and the race in the afternoon.
Motorsport.tv will be broadcasting the 2025 Super Formula season worldwide, excluding Japan. Fans can enjoy live coverage of all qualifying sessions and races with English commentary through a monthly subscription. However, for the opening weekend, viewers can tune in for free on motorsport.tv.
2025 Super Formula Calendar
This season will feature the largest calendar in Super Formula history, with 12 rounds compared to the usual nine. The series will visit familiar tracks such as Suzuka, Motegi, Autopolis, Fuji, and Sugo, with additional races at Suzuka, Motegi, and Fuji. Unfortunately, plans for an overseas race in South Korea fell through due to negotiations between JRP, the Super Formula organizer, and the Korean event promoter.
