2025 GT Winter Series Introduces New Split GT3 Class
Gedlich Racing’s GT Winter Series is gearing up for its sixth season in 2025 with an exciting new development – the introduction of a GT3 and GT3 Pro split category. This move is set to shake up the competition and add a new layer of excitement for fans and drivers alike.
The Split
In this latest iteration of the GT Winter Series, GT3 cars will be divided into two distinct classes – GT3 for teams with at least one bronze driver in their lineup, and GT3 Pro for teams exclusively made up of Silver or higher graded drivers. This split allows teams and drivers to compete in a more relevant classification, providing a platform for everyone to showcase their skills and expertise.
The Lineup
Confirmed teams for the GT3 and GT3 Pro categories include SSR Motorsport with a Porsche 992 GT3 R, Olimp Racing with Ferrari 296 GT3s, Pellin Racing with Ferrari 488 GT3, and a handful of AMG GT3 Evos from teams like CBRX by SPS Performance and BDR Competition by Grupoprom. Last year’s team and championship winners, Schnitzelalm Racing by SR Motorsport, will also be making their return to the series.
The Races
Each GT Winter Series weekend will feature three races – two 30-minute sprint races and a 55-minute endurance race with a mandatory pit stop. The action kicks off at Estoril on 16-19 January, followed by rounds at Portimao, Valencia, Aragon, and Barcelona. Fans can catch all the excitement live on the Winter Series YouTube channel, with free access to the circuit during race weekends (excluding the final events at Barcelona).
