Al Rajhi Takes Commanding Lead in Dakar Rally
In a thrilling turn of events at the Dakar Rally, Toyota’s Yazeed Al Rajhi has taken the lead, leaving everyone in the dust. The competition is heating up as Nasser Al Attiyah follows closely behind, making for an intense battle at the top of the leaderboard. Mattias Ekstrom has also made a strong showing, moving into third place with his Ford Raptor.
Sainz and Loeb Face Setbacks
Unfortunately, it was not smooth sailing for all the competitors. Carlos Sainz encountered a major setback when he flipped over in his Ford Raptor. Despite his best efforts and the help of his teammate Mitch Guthrie, Sainz found himself nearly 50 minutes behind by the end of the day. On the other hand, Sebastien Loeb faced mechanical issues due to a defective fan on his Dacia, costing him precious time on the track.
Surprises and Triumphs on the Track
Among the standout performances of the day was Ultimate class rookie Toby Price, who impressed everyone with his skills behind the wheel of his Overdrive Toyota. Giniel de Villiers and Guillaume De Mévius also had a solid day, covering over 600km and joining the leading pack. The American duo of Brock Heger and Xavier de Soultrait dominated the SSV class, leaving their competitors in the dust.
