Heart of Racing Unveils 2025 FIA WEC Line-up

The Heart of Racing, a U.S.-flagged Aston Martin customer team based in Seattle, has officially announced its 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) LMGT3 driver lineup. This exciting development sees the team locking in Zacharie Robichon and Mattia Drudi to join team principal Ian James for the upcoming season as they continue to compete with the Evo-spec Vantage on the global stage.

Robichon, a familiar face to Heart of Racing, is making a return to the team after a successful stint in IMSA’s GTD class in 2024. The IMSA WeatherTech GTD champion of 2021, Robichon kicked off the year by participating in several notable races, including the 24 Hours of Dubai, Rolex 24 At Daytona, and Bathurst 12 Hour. His impressive performance has now secured his place within the team until the culmination of the 2025 season.

Sharing his enthusiasm for the upcoming campaign, Robichon expressed, “I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of the Heart of Racing for a little over a year now. I’m excited to finally be able to complete a full season together with Ian and Mattia in WEC. This championship is one that I love, and to have the chance to compete with Aston Martin and the Heart of Racing Team is one that cannot come soon enough.”

On the other hand, Drudi will be making his WEC debut alongside the Heart of Racing team at the season’s opening event in Qatar. The talented Italian driver, who triumphed in the Centenary edition of the Spa 24 Hours last year with Aston Martin, already showcased his skills as part of The Heart of Racing’s lineup at the 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Expressing his excitement for this new chapter, Drudi stated, “I’m super excited to be making my FIA WEC debut with the Heart of Racing Team. Zach was one of the best Silver-rated drivers in 2024, and Ian has been one of the quickest Bronze-rated drivers. I think overall we have a really strong lineup. The Aston Martin Vantage was one of the strongest and most competitive cars last year. I can’t wait to get the season started in Qatar later this month.”

As the duo of Robichon and Drudi prepares to hit the track, they will be joined by the experienced team principal and driver Ian James, who embarks on his third year with the FIA WEC effort. James, a key figure in the team’s success, played a pivotal role in securing the team’s first WEC pole position last season and clinching victories at Lone Star Le Mans in CoTA, as well as podium finishes in Qatar and Sao Paulo.

Reflecting on the upcoming season, James shared, “I’m excited to see what the 2025 season holds for our team. Zach and Mattia are both great drivers and have already shown what they can do this season at Daytona. We have a solid crew working on our Aston Martin, they have been on our car since we started in WEC. This season we will be building on the success we had the previous two seasons.”

The anticipation continues to build as Robichon, Drudi, James, and the entire Heart of Racing Team gear up to take on the competition at the season prologue kicking off on February 20th, leading up to the thrilling Qatar 1812km race on February 28th.
