Teams are gonna meet in Jerez today to talk about changes to the race start rules to avoid a repeat of the chaos at the Americas Grand Prix last month. Marc Marquez caused a big mess before the Austin race by running from the grid to the pits to switch bikes less than two minutes before the warm-up lap. Not really sure why this matters, but it seems like everyone followed his lead and officials had to stop the start with a red flag.

The decision to restart was like a get-out-of-jail card for the riders who copied Marquez. But Ai Ogura, Enea Bastianini, and Brad Binder, who took a risk with slick tires, got no reward. Everyone was mad after the race because no one knew the complicated rules.

Enea Bastianini made a good choice on the grid, but now everyone is trying to simplify the rules so everyone understands. Changes are already being talked about and might happen before the next race in France. Teams are taking their time to think before deciding in Jerez, probably before the Spanish Grand Prix.
