IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR SERIES After sitting out the last round at Long Beach, the GTD PRO class rejoins GTP and GTD under what are expected to be cool and clear skies at Laguna Seca. Dries Vanthoor starts on pole in the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8 he shares with Philipp Eng — as he has for all four races this season — but can he finally find a way to beat Porsche Penske Motorsport’s No. 7 963 which won the first three races? As if it needed a further confidence boost, PPM won here last year as well (albeit with the No. 6 sister car).
